Mixed media art is so popular these days, so why not try many of the techniques you love to do on paper onto canvas to create amazing items for your home, for a gift or even for sale on your Etsy Shop or locally. ?A set of 4 placements is a breeze and the one of a kind set will be a topic of discussion at any dinner table or supper club party.

Hello, Julia Cotrim here sharing how to create painted mixed media Canvas Placemats by Canvas Corp. ?

linen sheets

They measure?14″; x 20″; and are made of 100% cotton. ?Perfect for table top decor, custom placemats and DIY projects.

Every kitchen needs a placemat and every placemat needs a designer. ?They are perfect for personalizing with your favorite mixed media techniques on the canvas and show off your style on the kitchen table.

To create my placemats I used my favorite paints –; Tattered Angels High Impact Aqua and Light Blue! ?The High Impact Paint is a very good quality acrylic paint that works very well on natural fibers like canvas and burlap and is also permanent and washable. ?You can use the colors as they are or mix them to get just the right colors.

High Impact is the thickest paint in the Tattered Angels family. It’;s an opaque paint with excellentaccent pillow case baby burlap housewares, color-rich coverage that leaves a shine once dried. ?When layering make sure to let the each color dry between coats if you want them to say as they are or paint while wet for a totally different technique. ?These are fast drying paints, but we recommend that you allow them to dry over-night if possible before setting the table.

It is fun to match the paint colors to your plates, floral arrangements or other decor in the room. ?You can paint stripes, dots, swirls or use a stencil. ?Truly anything goes, but the key is the colors are right on, the mats look amazing and they are definitely one of a kind. ?You can pencil in your design, sketch out a saying or names or live a little and just let yourself go. ?This is a great project for a craft night, girls night out or even for a wedding shower where the bride takes home a set of hand-painted placemats to match her new home that were each made by the special people in her life.

Happy Creating!!

Are you excited about the holiday season? I can’t wait to start decorating for Christmas. We still have a few weeks but I’ve already started crafting a few new decor projects. Every year I take a look at Pottery Barn for inspiration, I love Pottery Barn but not their prices. What I’ve found is that I can usually create knock-offs for a lot less. Using only a few items, I was able to create this easy mason jar vase for a fraction of the price.

We are inspired by the world around us and love to showcase new and exciting artist, designers and crafters and our guest designer series is a great way to inspire our Crew as well as each one of you to try something?different, show off a new style or help you think outside of?your creative box, so from time to time we like to invite crafters to be our Guest Designer/Blogger for a month to challenge us to see things in a different way and so that we may learn more about our products through the?eyes of a new designer. This month we have invited Janna Werner . Janna is well known in the craft world and we love to see how she used our basic products ?for simple and clever crafty projects.
